Europe's gross gambling revenue reached €123.4 billion in 2024, up 5% year-on-year, according to the European Gaming and Betting Association and H2 Gambling Capital. Online GGR grew faster — up 11.7% to €47.9 billion, now 39% of the total (from 37% in 2023) and expected to cross 40% in 2025.

Wide national variation
Online penetration differs sharply across Europe: Sweden (68.3%), Finland and Denmark (68.1%) lead, while Spain (14.2%) is the most land-based of the major markets — largely a function of regulation, taxation and market maturity.
