The share of gambling that happens online varies enormously by country, driven by regulation, taxation and market maturity. Below, national online-GGR shares for 2024 (Europe from EGBA; the US commercial figure from the AGA, shown for comparison).

Methodology. European national shares are online GGR as a percentage of total GGR for 2024 (EGBA / H2 Gambling Capital). The US figure is online as a share of commercial gaming revenue (AGA) and is not perfectly comparable. The Nordic countries lead because of early, well-channelled online regulation.
